LA PASCASIA, one of the first inns in Castile, began providing lodging and sustenance to travelers who stopped in Sanabria in the second half of the 19th century, in one of the most important arcaded buildings in the Historic-Artistic Site of Puebla de Sanabria, whose origin dates back to the 17th century.
The inn offers you seven spaces to rest and enjoy the centuries-old architecture and avant-garde furniture, the mountain water that enters through the modern jacuzzis and hydromassage showers.

In the Posada’s restaurant, we offer our clients a varied and select menu of Sanabria’s gastronomy, based on local products such as habones (large white beans), game, mushrooms, trout, and veal, reinterpreted with a creative touch. Among its outstanding dishes are the veal cheeks or Sanabria veal steak and fresh fish brought directly from the Pontevedra fish market, as well as enjoying coffee or a drink in the Taberna-Bar with the emerald well or relaxing on our private terrace.
The atmosphere is charming, with careful decoration and attentive and professional service.
Wine Tourism
Sanabria, although better known for its impressive glacial lake and its natural richness, also offers interesting opportunities for wine tourism, especially if you expand the radius a little towards the province of Zamora and the neighboring region of Bragança, in Portugal.
Although Sanabria is not a recognized wine denomination of origin, in its surroundings there are wineries that are committed to natural wines and authentic experiences. The proximity to the El Pego area where the Cuatro mil cepas Winery is located, with good wines such as Díscolo or 5 de copas, or the Aliste Winery, located in the Meseta Ibérica Biosphere Reserve, offers natural wines in a protected environment.
Very close by, in Bragança, you can find projects such as Casa do Joa, which combines centuries-old vineyards with ecological wine tourism and glamping experiences. This cross-border connection enriches the offer and allows you to explore wines from both sides of the border.

A few minutes from the Lago de Sanabria Natural Park and the Sierra de la Culebra, the perfect refuge to explore centuries-old forests, glacial lagoons, hidden waterfalls and hiking trails that cross fairytale landscapes.
There are many hiking trails such as the Cárdena river canyon, the Sana Martín cave or the Segundera mountain lagoons
It is also interesting to visit the Iberian Wolf Center CyL Félix Rodríguez De La Fuente, it is a regional reference space for the recovery of wild wolves injured, sick and/or seized by the Administration, where they can enjoy the observation of Iberian wolves in semi-freedom conditions and allows to know their interesting biology and ecology, the plans that guarantee their conservation and management, and the rich cultural heritage derived from their relationship with human populations.
In addition to serving its visitors, the Center organizes activities and scientific events around the wolf, such as workshops, seminars, and congresses.
From the galleries of the Posada, you can see the mountains and the Tera River and after a day of hiking, nothing like relaxing in a room with a jacuzzi or enjoying a dinner with local products.
