The Hospedería offers a pleasant cafeteria and a comfortable dining room on the ground floor, served from its modern restaurant facilities.

The restaurant’s cuisine remains faithful to the traditional Castilian monastic recipe book, using the highest quality products in its recipes, taking advantage of the seasons. The dining room has a capacity for 50 people.

The bar-cafeteria is a space where guests can enjoy a pleasant conversation while tasting coffees, soft drinks, infusions, and delicious sweets made in the Hospedería’s own kitchen.

Within this spiritual journey, an essential visit is the Monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos, a Benedictine abbey whose origins probably date back to the 9th century. Its Romanesque cloister, considered one of the jewels of European medieval art, its legendary cypress, and the famous Silenses glosses make it a place of profound beauty and significance. Silos is also the only monastery in Spain where the monks continue to celebrate all their offices entirely in Gregorian chant, the plainchant of the Middle Ages, offering a unique and unforgettable spiritual experience.

In addition to the Monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos, which beyond its spiritual dimension is also a cultural reference, in the Convento de San Francisco itself is the Permanent Exhibition on the History of Monasticism, a proposal designed to bring the profound meaning of monastic life and its contribution to Western culture closer to 21st-century society. Through a clear and accessible tour, the main manifestations and contributions of monasticism are shown throughout more than eleven centuries of history. In addition, the convent houses temporary exhibitions that offer new perspectives on the heritage, art, and culture of our environment.

A few kilometers away, visitors can discover the Sad Hill Cemetery, a work of cinematographic architecture built in 1966 in the municipalities of Contreras and Santo Domingo de Silos, to shoot the final scene of the mythical film The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, by director Sergio Leone.

The Hospedería del Convento San Francisco is a unique option for MICE tourism, in a natural and heritage environment that invites meeting, reflection and creativity. Its spaces allow you to organize meetings, conferences or retreats with total flexibility. The Salón San Francisco, with capacity for 150 people, has audiovisual media, and can be expanded with the contiguous Salón San Benito. The Salón Silos (70 people) and the Sala Santo Domingo (50 people) are ideal for seminars or group work.

In addition, the old Church —today without worship— offers an incomparable setting for concerts, exhibitions or institutional events. The Library, with capacity for 30 people, houses a valuable specialized collection and functions as a reading or training space. Each room has its own character, which allows adapting the whole to the needs of any type of event.

The Sabinares del Arlanza-La Yecla Natural Park, which includes the town of Santo Domingo de Silos, is home to one of the most extensive and best-preserved juniper forests in Europe, with trees that are over 2,000 years old, next to the La Yecla Gorge.

Therefore, the surroundings of the town offer hiking routes. These paths allow you to enjoy unique natural landscapes and forests, also discovering the historical landmarks of the municipality, such as the construction of the Benedictine Monastery of Silos.
