The Posada Real La Mula de los Arribes was born from the careful renovation of an old 19th-century farmhouse, located in the center of the picturesque town of Villardiegua de la Ribera, in the heart of the Arribes del Duero Natural Park, a Transfrontier Biosphere Reserve of the Iberian Plateau.
The main house, dating back to 1869, is an example of rural architecture, built in stone and with heritage elements integrated into its walls: remains of pre-Roman funerary steles, inscriptions, and granite livestock sculptures.

The name of the Posada pays homage to the emblematic stone verraco known as “La Mula” (The Mule), a zoomorphic sculpture from the Second Iron Age that is located in the heart of the town, an ancestral symbol of the region.
